Quintessential Cutlery Presents

First time I met this young maker from Brooklyn was in 2014 at NYCKS in Jersey City NJ. I have  always  been looking for good kitchen knives, and that's what stopped me at his table . He had  several very good looking chef's knives and "field knifes" with very well made Kydex sheaths. I bought  some san-mai kitchen knife and a couple field knives. I liked not only the knives, but also his enthusiasm and commitment to this new to him ( metal worker by trade) avenue of metal art and craft. During last two years, Michael turned his interest to a manufactured folding knives, and he is very successful in his venture.  His tactical folders are designed  with purposefulness and contemporary aesthetics, easy to handle and very good looking. Finish is perfect, nice details, there are no corners cut, and the knives are affordably priced .  I think (and many others as well) that this is just a beginning of speedy journey for this energetic maker who is constantly moving forward . List of his accomplishments is already impressive and includes :  "Best New Maker Award" at Blade Show 2016 and Judges Award at 2016 Knifemakers Guild Show for his bowie knife. Being so successful in his manufactured lane of folding knives  let's hope he is not going to lose his interest in custom knives, and that there are many more to come.

2 large knives set

Blades are 14-3/4" and 10-1/2" long, ground from CPM S35 VN steel.

Handles are 6-1/2" long made of stabilized maple wood and buffalo horn.

Set is fitted with two pair of sheath: one kydex for transporting and other fancy, made with stabilized exotic wood with magnets inside for better hold.

This is a pair meant for serious jobs like pit-fire lamb roast, roasted pig, stack of gyro meat, big fish, to think of a few.  They feel great in the hand, for its size. Light, swift and dependable. Also, if any kitchen knives deserve to be exhibit in the kitchen wall this two definitely do.
